Ways to Create With Us

Studio

Cozy, small-group workshops at our Chelsea studio. Explore hand building, paint-your-own pottery, seasonal projects, and wheel throwing in a relaxed, creative setting.

Mobile

We pop up all over—with community partners, at special events, or right in your space. Book us for private gatherings or corporate team building. All ages, all levels—just bring your curiosity.

Community Art engagement

Community is at the center of everything we do. We partner with local organizations and events to create welcoming, hands-on experiences that bring people together. No pressure, no perfection—just connection, creativity, and curiosity.

Classes

Curiouser Clay is a mobile clay studio with a cozy home studio, too—where play comes first and there’s no pressure to get it “right.”

Join us at our place, find us out in the community, or invite us to bring the workshop to you. In two hours, you’ll try something new, make something entirely your own, and enjoy a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity.

Meet Eli Zemper

Eli is a community arts facilitator, artist, and creative activist whose work lives at the intersection of art, access, and belonging. As the founder of Curiouser Clay, she creates mobile, hands-on ceramics experiences that invite people into play, connection, and shared making.

With a background spanning over two decades in education, experiential design, and community facilitation, Eli is driven by a commitment to creative equity—designing spaces where all people, particularly those historically excluded from arts access, can participate, lead, and be seen.

She is also the founder of Moxie Works, a nonprofit initiative building inclusive studio environments for artists with diverse abilities. Whether through pop-ups, workshops, or large-scale community projects, Eli’s work asks a simple question: what becomes possible when everyone is invited to the table?

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
These classes are much fun (with such a talented artist and teacher)! I was thrilled enough to find Eli’s pottery for purchase — it makes the greatest local gift (especially the MI ornaments). But then I took a class — what an awesome experience. She couldn’t be more organized with her class setup, and it’s the perfect creative night out, whether solo or with a small group. We can’t wait to host a private pottery event at our home next time.

Amazing classes! Eli is a great host and teacher. She makes the clay classes very fun and interactive, allowing lots of space to be creative. She is very encouraging to let yourself be free and that there are no mistakes in art! I’ve done a few of her classes and will continue to take more in the future, these are small class sizes and all you have to do is show up! Eli supplies everything you need to make a one of a kind, homemade piece of art!
